Social Marketing Strategies

Teams Working togetherOne of my most recent purchases was a 60 minute mp3 on Social Marketing Strategies.  The mp3 was recorded at an event where some of the top internet marketers were making presentations. Specifically, they created a panel of individuals who answered questions about social media.

If you know some of the players in the field then you'll recognize some names like: Willie Crawford, Kevin Riley, Maritza Parra, Jeff Herring, and Joey Smith.

They don't all agree. I really like that because it tells me that they are coming from a different space. It helps us to better address our fears and concerns and have options for what direction to go.

The five specific questions that were asked are

  1. Is Social Media for real?  How is it changing Internet Marketing?
  2. How do you drive traffic using Social Media
  3. Do you still need a list?  How do I use Social Media with my list?
  4. Why would I want to build an online presence using Social Media?
  5. Do conversion tactics still work on Social Media?

A lot of what they talk about is the use of twitter. There was some discussion about whether you should put direct messages on twitter for products and services or if you should simply try to push folks to your newsletter. Topics like timesuck, tweetadder, finding the perfect target market, using tools to automate, creating funnels, driving traffic around, interacting with your followers or hiring someone to interact and more.

One of the funny things was the story about someone who hired folks to interact but lost all credibility when a tweet came from "him" while he was onstage at the time.

The recording of this panel group took place at NAMS (Niche Affiliate Marketing Seminar). Part of the purpose of the seminar was to create some products that could be used by the attendees.

The moderator asked one question I thought was quite valuable. Tell me one of your secret strategies for making money with social media. I won't spoil it, take a listen for yourself.

The sales page “Strategies for Social Marketing” can be reached by clicking here. Yes, it's $17--but really, it's worth it. Check it out.
